Difficulty one of the more technical peaks that is amongst those considered hard climbs. Steep Rock and snow,exposure and avalanche tough. It lies in the northeast region of Nepal close to Mt.Everest and Mt.Lhotse. Makalu means the Great Black One, so called due to its dark brooding appearance.
