Overview
Mt. Annapurna I (8091m) is the 10th highest mountain of the world located in north central of Nepal. Annapurna region is protected by the largest conservation area of Nepal named "Annapurna Conservation Area Project" within the 7639 km/sq. The Annapurna Circuit trek is one of the most popular trek in Nepal with in Annapurna mountain range of central Nepal. This trek is also known as "Round Annapurna Trek" which rises to an altitude of 5416 m / 17,769ft on the Thorung La Pass. Annapurna Round Trek begins at Beshisahar in the Marshyangdi Valley drive along river Marsyangdi in the east and the Kaligandaki in the west. Kaligandaki gorge which is also the deepest gorge of the world. normally, the trek ends at Jomsom after crossing the Thorung La Pass (highest pass in the world) which collects the height of 5416m. From Jomsom overland transportation will be taken up to Pokhara. In the early 1980 this trekking route was opened for the foreigners.
